This 1997 Toyota Hiace Gran Cabin is a really rare configuration from Toyota. This was a 1 owner Hiace owned and operated as a shuttle bus for a nursing home in the countryside north of Kyoto Japan all it’s life until 2024. This has the highest factory roof, with a 5ft 4 interior height, and the longest wheelbase, offering almost Sprinter-like cargo space inside! The interior presents nicely with an antelope brown, with seating for 10, belts for 9. It is optioned with front driver and passenger airbags, a rarity in many configurations of Hiaces. The rear features factory curtains all around, with rear power curtains. On the exterior are the desirable heavy duty style front mirrors, low profile OEM window rain visors, and factory steel 15 inch wheels. It is powered by a turbo charged 3 Liter 1kZTE diesel engine, giving it modern road manners and very comfortable driving speeds. This van also features dual zone AC and Heat, with separate controls for both front and rear zones. It is powered by a manual 5 speed transmission connected to a full time four wheel drive system. These are very capable 4wd Vans, mimicking the capabilities of a Toyota Tacoma or 4Runner. This van received a full host of service at a Toyota dealership in Kobe Japan in spring 2024, before being imported to the US, including a new timing belt, water pump, radiator hoses and more.
